mistake, often overlooked, that jeopardizes its health: a sedentary lifestyle.
Unlike inactivity, being sedentary means sitting or remaining immobile for long
hours, even if you otherwise practice a sport. That's where the trap lies.
You can be
athletic and still be sedentary. This static lifestyle disrupts your
metabolism, stiffens your arteries, and accelerates cardiac aging. Added to this
are well-known enemies such as chronic stress, lack of sleep, and an unbalanced
diet. To maintain a strong and resilient heart, it is essential to incorporate
movement into your daily routine. The WHO recommends 150 to 300 minutes of
moderate activity per week. But above all, it is important to break up
prolonged periods of immobility: get up regularly, walk, garden, take the
stairs... Every little bit counts.
