The 6th edition of the Made in Togo Fair was officially launched on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Togolese Center for Exhibitions and Fairs (CETEF) in Lomé. Placed under the theme “Let’s consume Togolese for a strong and sustainable economy,” the event that helds from August 1 to 10, the fair is an opportunity to promote young entrepreneurs involved in processing local
It
is an opportunity to buy products made in Togo in agribusiness, crafts,
textiles, natural cosmetics, and technological innovations. Togolese ingenuity
is highlighted in every booth, driven by the ambition of a dynamic and
resilient private sector. 170 exhibitors are presenting their products and
know-how.
Organized
by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Local Consumption, in collaboration with
CETEF, the fair is much more than a simple sales space; it stands as a
strategic lever for the emergence of a robust and competitive entrepreneurial
ecosystem.
“This
theme perfectly illustrates the objective of this fair, which is to ensure
greater visibility for the efforts made by our compatriots and investors to
create goods and services locally, and thus encourage their consumption as well
as their export,” said Kayi Mivedor, Minister of Trade, Handicrafts and Local
Consumption.
For
Alexandre de Souza, Director General of CETEF, consuming local is not just a
slogan. It is an economic responsibility and a civic act of commitment and
solidarity. “The Made in TOGO Fair grows year after year and is trying to
become part of the habits. It offers a showcase for Togolese talents, creates a
space for business opportunities and encourages networking. Thanks to the
support of the Government and our partners, we provide a favorable framework
for the emergence of our exhibitors’ projects,” he said.
In
the CETEF aisles, a few visitors flock in, exchanges are lively, and 100%
Togolese products attract attention.
BIOTECH,
a company specializing in nutraceuticals and natural food supplements,
attracted some curious visitors. Its promoter, Michèle, passionately explained: “We produce food supplements made from organically grown plants, rich in
nutrients and free from chemical additives. The Made in Togo Fair gives us
visibility. It is also a place for scientific exchange with other innovators.”
On
the visitors’ side, the interest is equally strong. Thierry, a student in
economics, is visiting for the second time: “I came with my classmates to buy
natural products, especially soaps and medicinal teas. It’s impressive to see
so much creativity from home. I didn’t know that young people like me could
build such great businesses. It motivates me to start one too.”
Through
exhibitions, entertainment and experience-sharing, the Made in Togo Fair stands
out as a key event for those who believe in local potential.
Still
a few days left to visit, buy, network and be amazed — until August 10, 2025 —
it’s the ideal moment to take concrete action in favor of national development.
