Walking for ten minutes a day at a brisk pace is a good start to avoiding a sedentary lifestyle and reaping the health benefits. We're still a long way from the recommended minimum of 150 minutes of physical activity per week, but we're halfway there, which isn't bad. And ten minutes' walking a day is by no means insurmountable.

For inactive people, just 10 minutes a day of brisk walking, seven days a week, translates into: better physical condition, greater ability to carry out daily tasks, a positive effect on mood, improved quality of life, a healthier weight, a 15% reduction in the risk of premature mortality.

For patients with health problems, this moderate exercise contributes positively to disease management and reduces the risk of comorbidities. It is worth exploring an alternative as accessible as walking for people with physical limitations, such as disabling back pain. After starting with these ten minutes, it is advisable to gradually increase the duration, as the more you practice. Without exaggerating, you need to listen to your body, and the more you do, the greater the benefits.
