The Association of Health Service Managers and
Administrators of Togo (AGASSTO) held its elective and statutory general
meeting in Lomé on Friday 22 November 2024. The theme of the meeting was
‘Towards universal health coverage: the role of service managers and hospital
administrators in improving access to care. The event provided an opportunity
to assess the progress made in the management and administration of health
services, while identifying the challenges ahead, particularly in the
management of resources, funding and equitable access to care for vulnerable
populations. AGASSTO's aim is to strengthen its commitment to universal health
coverage in Togo.
For AGASSTO vice-president Pallo Monguilouwé,
guaranteeing every citizen equitable and rapid access to quality healthcare is
an essential mission. He stressed the importance of concrete, coordinated
action, saying: «It's not about theories, it's about concrete action. A
craftsman is only as good as his work». Managers and administrators are strategic pillars for
efficient governance, sound management of resources, and the establishment of
inclusive care systems. Through this framework, AGASSTO is committed to
transforming health reforms into tangible realities, contributing to a robust
and resilient health system.
