The
free medical consultation campaign organised by the Institut National
d'Assurance Maladie (INAM) in the Kara region ended on Wednesday 24 July 2024
on a note of satisfaction.
Following
in the footsteps of Greater Lomé, the Kara region hosted the INAM's free
medical consultation campaign from 13 to 24 July 2024. The campaign was a good opportunity for
people in the 15 localities visited to be treated by a qualified medical team.
Everywhere it went, people turned out in their droves to benefit from free
medical consultations, medicines, screening for high blood pressure, diabetes
and hepatitis B, health advice.
The
roadshow team visited all six prefectures in the Kara region. A total of 5,616
people were treated, representing 112% of the target. The beneficiaries were very satisfied with
the care they received, and praised this initiative by INAM and its
partners.
This
mobile medical consultation campaign is part of the Universal Health Insurance
(AMU) programme.Its aim is to provide citizens with quality healthcare and
reliable health data on vulnerable populations, so that the medical assistance
scheme can be implemented.
INAM
organised this campaign in partnership with the National Doctors' Association
of Togo (ONMT), the African Centre for Research in Epidemiology and Public
Health (CARESP) and the National Agency for Voluntary Work in Togo (ANVT).
