The study, conducted by the University of Cambridge and published in « Neuropsychopharmacology », explains that excessive use of antidepressants can « emotionally dull" patients. This is one of the side-effects that many people on antidepressants experience. In a way, this may be part of the way they work. They take away some of the emotional pain experienced by people suffering from depression, but, unfortunately, they also seem to take away some of the pleasure.
